About Us

Why choose Little Shakers?

“Little Shakers” are fun, upbeat preschool classes in Ruislip and Ealing.

With over 25 years experience working with preschool children Vanessa has designed a unique concept of music, movement and an early introduction to gymnastics.

Vanessa's professional training in this area proves invaluable when it comes to running this kind of class, especially when both safety and having FUN are paramount.

Our motto is "Music, Fitness and FUN!" for a reason. Our Little Shakers classes are exactly that. Fun and upbeat music provides the soundtrack to movement, dance and physical activities designed to help each child develop at their own pace.

The FUN is our favourite part. Vanessa alongside "Betsy", her much loved puppet, also incorporates many familiar characters to bring the classes to life.

We use age appropriate equipment and props for each of our different classes. One for 1 - 2 years of age and one for children aged 2 - 4 years.

Little Shakers follows a structured format for both classes. We begin and end each session with our exclusive "Little Shakers" song that features words and actions that children (and parents/carers) can easily follow. Towards the end of each session we also incorporate a different activity, for example parachute, bubbles or a fun circuit featuring climbing, balance and soft play equipment.

In each session we also feature a section involving fun mat based excercise. Vanessa will teach you and your children how to safely carry out a wide range of floor excercises that improve their mobility.

At two years old we fully realise that every child is unique. With that in mind, Vanessa will help you decide when your child is ready to move up to the older age group.

A lot of our Little Shakers stay with us from aged 1 right until they start school reception, aged 4 years plus. Over the years it's been a pleasure to watch them all grow in confidence, fully ready to take on the next challenge of full time school.

Children, whilst busy having fun with Vanessa and Betsy, are developing many of the Early Years Foundation Stage goals and gaining confidence while bonding with parents/carers.

Little Shakers is NOT a franchise...

The Little Shakers brand is exclusive to our Ruislip and Ealing venues and only ever taught by Vanessa. We believe this gives us an advantage over similar franchised classes. Children gain confidence through building up a unique bond and trust with Vanessa rather than with a different teacher each week/term.

Our music creates the perfect mood and atmosphere to reflect the fun activities and excercises that take place during class.

We are proud to use a mix of exclusive original Little Shakers songs alongside reimagined classic children's songs and familiar nursery rhymes.

We believe this not only puts a unique musical stamp on our Little Shakers classes, but also gives those who attend something that they simply can't get any where else.
